The top of Becici Jogja

Becici peak Jogja

The warmth of the sun that could not wait to return to the room accompanied the footsteps towards the Becici Peak. From the height of the viewing post and the pine top, you can see the enchanting sunrise panorama. The journey from Yogyakarta to the Becici Peak is somewhat fun and spoils the eyes. Smooth streets, breezy winds, rows of trees that stand tightly together can make anyone who passes by will smile happily. The whirlwind that shook tree branches made the legs feel tired. This thick pine forest causes you to not feel the weight of walking. In addition, you will also find long wooden chairs that you can use to rest. The viewing post built on the tree also adds to the cozy atmosphere.

Origin

At first the forest in the Mangunan area was only dry and arid land which was later reforested. At that time, not only pine was planted in this area, there were also other types of trees such as mahogany, acacia, candlenut and eucalyptus on an area of about 500 hectares. The forest which is part of the Forest Management Resort (RPH) The construction of the working area of the Bantul Regency Agriculture and Forestry Office was then planted with pine merkusii (tusam sumatra). Some of these types of pine are also tapped to be used as raw material for turpentine and gondorukem. Only since 2015, in the end is Pinung Mangunan Forest not only functioning as a protected forest but also managed with Jogja’s natural tourism destinations. There are also those who use it as a place for outbound or camping. The existence of Bengkung spring also attracts tourists. Who does not think the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, visited the pine forest natural tour, Becici Dlingo Peak, in Bantul Yogyakarta. Besides having a cool atmosphere, Becici Peak also presents views of Yogyakarta City, in the form of settlements, fields and rice fields. After being satisfied with an excursion on Becici Hill, Barack Obama’s family immediately went on a trip.
